Police pleased with Countryfest weekend

From a policing perspective Countryfest weekend has the potential to be a problem.
However, Dauphin RCMP are pleased with this year’s festival.
“We had a contingency plan in place for the event and things went smoothly,” said Dauphin RCMP Detachment commander Staff-Sgt. Nolan Suss.
During the course of the event, approximately 21 calls for service were received. These included four disturbances, two thefts and two mischief complaints.
As well, during Countryfest, RCMP officers in the area stepped up traffic enforcement, through Manitoba Public Insurance-sponsored Checkstops, to help ensure the safety of everyone travelling in the area.
