Habitat for Humanity selects family for upcoming build

The local chapter of Habitat for Humanity selected Leona Mazurat and her three children Ethan Everett Leia Everett and Lexi Mazura as the beneficiaries of the next home build set for 2019.
There are three needs that a family must meet to be selected. They are the need for a new house, an ability to repay a mortgage and an ability to partner with Habitat for Humanity.
Habitat for Humanity provides the opportunityfor an interest free mortgage to build a new home to the selected family in exchange for some sweat equity.
“We want to give people a safe and affordable house and let them be a part of the community.” Said Natalie Yaworsky-Doan chairperson of the Family Selection Committee.
“It’s like hitting the jackpot,” said Mazurat, asingle mother of three.
This will be the second home build in Dauphin by the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity and the 27th in Manitoba.
“Now that we have a family, the next phase will be getting the fund-raising committee and building committee together and start designing the house,” said Rodney Juba, chairperson of the local chapter.
“Hopefully we will start breaking ground sometime in 2019, and get started on the building.”
