Multi-Material Stewardship Manitoba’s (MMSM) 2017 recycling report released last week was a positive one for Dauphin.
The annual report, which includes a per capita recycling rate for communities across the province showed Dauphinites recycled a total of 641,221 kilograms or 75.8 kilograms per person in 2017, up from 59.1 kilograms per person or 500,054 kilograms in total the year before.
“Our increase last year was 28 per cent in recycling, which is great,” said Bill Brenner director of Public Works and Operations.
“If we were using the 2016 formula we would have been even more than 28 per cent.”
