Exhibition game serves as learning tool for Clippers

The Rural Manitoba Football League schedule was thrown into turmoil when the East Parkland Warriors decided to take a leave-of-absence.
The Warriors were to have provided the opposition for the Dauphin Clippers to start the season, last Thursday. With East Parkland leaving the league, it was decided teams would get a bye on the days they were scheduled to face the Warriors.
So with that in mind, the Clippers scheduled an exhibition game with the Swan Valley Tigers in Swan River.
And, though the Tigers won the game, 24-8, it was worth the trip north for the Clippers.
According to team manager Cam Bennet, the Clippers played their veteran players in the first and third quarters, with the JV players on the field for the second and fourth quarters.
