Rangers look to improve in rematch

The Parkland Rangers got their first taste of preseason action, Wednesday, travelling west to Yorkton, Sask., to battle the RawTec Maulers.
After a solid first period, the Rangers faltered, dropping a 5-1 decision and were outshot in the process, by a 47-11 margin.
The team played a good first period, according to head coach Arnie Caplan, and were prepared for the game.
“We were ready to go. But I think as the game wore on, the last two periods we struggled. We struggled miserably and we got into a little bit of penalty trouble. We really couldn’t do much in the last two periods,” he said.
There were some positives the Rangers could take from the loss, Caplan said, but it was a tough first game for the team.
