Rangers snap losing skid on the road

The Parkland Rangers returned from the Christmas break with their annual trek to visit the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League’s most northern team, the Norman North Stars for a pair of games over the weekend.
Despite outshooting Norman, 35-27, the Rangers fell, 4-1 on Saturday night.
Mikey Baron’s power-play goal staked Norman to a 1-0 lead after the first period.
After Parkland’s Jaeger Lapointe tied the game in the second period, Jamie Valentino and Baron’s second of the game gave Norman a two-goal advantage entering the final frame, where Hunter Rambow sealed the win for Norman, with a shorthanded empty-net tally.
Braedin Melsted stopped 34 shots to earn the win, while Keaton Ziprick took the loss, making 23 saves.
Parkland snapped their losing streak, Sunday, with a 6-5 shootout victory.
