Suspects located, arrested


Two homicide suspects are finally in custody after a brief manhunt in the Dauphin area over the weekend.
A 39-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the stabbing death of a 36-year-old man at a Gilbert Plains residence, Saturday.
At approximately 9:40 p.m., May 4, Dauphin RCMP received a report of a stabbing at a residence in Gilbert Plains.
Upon arrival, officers located the victim within the residence who had been stabbed.
EMS personnel provided medical care, however, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The next day police issued a public advisory that the suspects were actively evading police. The suspects had attempted to steal vehicles in an effort to flee and additional police resources were sent into the area, in an effort to make the arrest.
The suspects remain in custody, however, police are not releasing their names, as charges have not been laid.
Dauphin RCMP, Major Crime Services and Forensic Identification Services are continuing the investigation.
