Police keep watch on dangerous intersection

In the past week Dauphin RCMP have been investigating several dangerous driving offences at the intersection of the garbage dump road and the Valley River highway.
This intersection at Road 147 N and Highway 362, approximately 1-1/2 km north of Dauphin, has been the scene of multiple fatal collisions over the past few years.
In recent fatal collisions two adults, a 39-year-old male and a 50-year-old female were killed in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection, June 23, 2018.
On Aug. 16, 2019, two children ages four and six were killed in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection.
RCMP are concerned about the dangerous driving at the intersection and will be out conducting extra enforcement.
Always remember to drive sober, wear a seatbelt, slow down, pay attention to the road at all times, come to a complete stop at stop signs, and do not proceed into an intersection until it is safe to do so.
