Local immigrant services office offering more through partnership

The local newcomer services office just got a lot stronger as Dauphin and Region Immigrant Services became a new site for Regional Connections Immigrant Services, April 1.
With over 30 years experience delivering newcomer settlement services in rural Manitoba, and with additional service sites in Altona, Morden, and Winkler, Regional Connections brings a host of new resources and programs to the Dauphin office.
Deborah Slonowsky, regional program manager for Dauphin, describes the development as a big step in the right direction.
“It’s not possible for small stand-alone offices to offer the same breadth of services, or have the same depth of expertise as larger service providers. As part of a larger rural settlement team that continues to keep client and community needs front and centre, we’re now better equipped to serve the newcomers in our area.”
