Benefit barbecue a boon for theatre

Mr. Mike’s Steakhouse Casual in Dauphin hosted a successful fund-raising barbecue on behalf of Countryfest Community Cinema as part of the restaurant’s 60th anniversary celebration.
Held from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, there were long lines of people for the entire three hours, waiting to get their Mike burgers.
Mr. Mike’s general manager Bryce Hancharyk said they wanted to do a local community event to raise money for a local not-for-profit organization in the community.
“We have the power to do it, so why not. Everyone loves a Mike burger, so why not do a barbecue to raise money for a good cause,” he said.
“We don’t want to see something like that go away. We’ve got to keep the community strong.”
