Culture Days Set As A Month-long Celebration Throughout The City

Culture Days is set to be celebrated throughout the city, Sept. 24 to Oct. 24.

Local organizer Jean-Louis Guillas noted the event is held across Canada, with this year being the 11th year for Culture Days in Dauphin.

“We have eight different activities,” he added. “The overall goal of Culture Days is always, create, participate and share. So we try to activate as many different art forms as we can.”

Some things, Guillas added, change from year to year, while others stay the same.

The signature event for Dauphin is the Yard Fringe, which takes place, Sept. 26. Residents are encouraged to hop on their bicycles for a tour around the city, stopping at various yards where different cultural events take place.

This year’s Yard Fringe begins at 1 p.m. at the Watson Art Centre.

There's a lot more in this week's Dauphin Herald!
