Rangers win second straight on the road

The local men’s soccer team is off to a good start this season.
The Dauphin Rangers FC won its second game of the year, 2-1 over Brandon’s Old Castle United, Sunday in Brandon.
Ivan Bedic and Mark Wollman had the Dauphin goals.
Rangers FC player-coach Jason Dando said Old Castle United will probably be Dauphin’s toughest competition this year.
“So to come out of there with a 2-1 win is nice,” he said.
Dando was hoping for a good start to the season, noting their first two games were on the road.
“Two road wins to start the season is awesome. I was hoping at least to split them, for sure. But getting two wins is better,” he said.
The Rangers play their home opener, Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Vermillion Park Sportsplex when they host Old Castle United.
Dando is expecting the Brandon squad to be hungry for revenge after Sunday’s loss.
“They should be looking to take one off of our home field like we did to them. So it should be a good game,” he said, adding the Rangers play better when they stay in their positions.
“Last game, we got four goals in the second half just strictly by playing positions. We’ve got to keep that up and keep it going.”
