Be aware of seasonal risks, says Dauphin fire chief

A rash of house fires over the hoidays has Cam Abrey wanting to remind the public to be careful.
The problem the Dauphin Fire Chief has is there is no one thing he can point to as a cause of the three blazes.
The cause of a Christmas Day fire which destroyed a residence southeast of the city is undetermined, while a New Year’s Day blaze which destroyed an unoccupied house approximately eight miles west of the city has been deemed accidntal and a third fire , Jan. 2, which heavily damaged a home on Second Avenue Southwest in Dauphin has been turned over to the RCMP for investigation.
“The Christmas Day fire there was nothing to investigate. When we arrived on scene there was nothing, but a basement,” Abrey said.
