DNRC ready to aid local seniors on a trip to cyberspace

Dauphin Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation (DNRC) is ready to launch the Cyber Seniors program, which connects local middle school students with seniors through technology.
Last spring, DNRC and the Healthy Together Now committee hosted a viewing of the documentary Cyber-Seniors, to gauge the interest of the community for a similar program.
DNRC executive director Mary Myhre said the film and a follow up workshop generated enough interest to proceed this fall, so DNRC is starting the youth component of the program first.
“In September we have two sessions. We’re going to go to MacKenzie Middle School (MMS) and meet with the students. We have over a dozen Grade 8 students, so we’re going to do some training with them,” she said.
