Women's collective putting emphasis on employability

Unity is a women’s maker collective being led by Dauphin Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation (DNRC), offering potentially life changing skills to its participants.
DNRC executive director Mary Myhre explained the Unity project will work with 15 to 20 women in Dauphin who face challenges to employment by learning skills to make high-quality, artisan goods.
“And while we’re doing that together, we’re going to get to know each other and socialize together and we’re going to learn some really great employability skills through this project,” she said.
Funding for the project is from Neighbourhood Renewal, Myhre noted, through the Department of Municipal Relations and Neighbourhoods Alive.
