Girls gain valuable experience on the pitch

After a strong start to the Westman High School Rugby 7s season, the Dauphin Clippers ended up finishing third with an overall record of 10-6.
Rivers finished first at 15-1, while Souris was second at 11-4-1.
The final jamboree of the fall season was held, Oct. 2 in Brandon, hosted by the Vincent Massey Vikings.
The four jamborees which made up the schedule were held over a 10-day span. But Clippers coach Mandy Carberry did not think conditioning was a factor in the Clippers faltering after winning all four games in the first jamboree.
“We have been working on it since our very first practice. Conditioning, cardio, strength and conditioning is all coming along with practices, as well. So, while technique is important to us, so is cardio,” she said.

The week's Dauphin Herald has more on the Clippers.
