School fire in Camperville sends students down to Pine Creek

An electrical fire at Philomene Chartrand School in Camperville has students relocated to Minegoziibe Anishinabe School in Pine Creek for up to six weeks.
Reg Klassen, chief superintendent of Frontier School Division (FSD), explained a fire started in one of the electrical or mechanical rooms, Feb. 2.
“And it seemed the fire itself didn’t spread very far, it was fairly well contained in that area, which is good,” he said.
“But there is water damage and fairly extensive smoke damage, because of the electrical fire and the fact that it probably smoldered a bit and created quite a bit of smoke damage.”
