Police make sizeable drug seizures in recent traffic stops

Two recent traffic stops have resulted in significant drug seizures in Dauphin.
On Mar. 15, at 9:10 p.m., officers the Dauphin RCMP Detachment conducted a traffic stop on Main Street in the city. The stop led to a search of the vehicle which resulted in the seizure of 764 grams of cocaine and variety drug paraphernalia.
Police arrested Steven Gerald Catagas, 36, of Grandview. He was remanded in custody on charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking and failing to comply with a recognizance.
On Mar. 17, at 3:40 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on 4th Avenue South East in Dauphin. The stop led to a search of the vehicle which resulted in the seizure of 11 grams of methamphetamine, a quantity of Canadian currency and various weapons, including a taser and a can of bear mace.
Police arrested Dauphin resident Preston Rodger Flatfoot, 29, and remanded him in custody on charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking, Three counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of property obtained by crime.
Dauphin RCMP continue to investigate.
