Lagoon expansion still waiting


The City of Dauphin is hoping new provincial and federal money for wastewater projects will mean the long-awaited expansion of its sewage lagoon will take place sooner, rather than later.
With environmental licensing, design work and the necessary land all in place, the project has been shovel ready for a number of years.
“We are just waiting for funding,” City manager Sharla Griffiths said, adding the city is seeking funding under the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program.
“We are checking almost daily, looking for when they open the application process. As soon as that application process opens up, we want to be first in line.”
