PIHG provides update to members at AGM

The Parkland Industrial Hemp Growers (PIHG) marked 20 years as a co-operative at its annual general meeting (AGM), Apr. 3.
President Chris Dzisiak pointed out PIHG is the only hemp co-op in Canada, with the oldest plant breeding program in the country.
“We have 10 varieties registered now and we have another one sitting in the pipe ready to go and potentially more in the breeding program,” he said.
“We have been part of three fibre processing operations. Two were stopped before they really got going, because they were just simply ahead of their time. The third, Hemp Sense in Gilbert Plains is starting to process both our grain and our fibre. And so it is the beginning of the next phase of hemp.”
