Healthy Together now serves up lunch

The saying, it takes a village to raise a child is alive and well, as the Healthy Together Now department of Prairie Mountain Health (PMH) has launched a summer lunch program for youth.
PMH health promotion and community development worker, Julie Moar, explained the program at Parkland Crossing every Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. is an opportunity for youth to learn about and make healthy lunches in the multi-purpose room.
“They get to choose two selections of fruits and vegetables. They have a selection of a whole grain item and one protein and they assemble their own lunches,” she added.
The program began in mid-July to a great response, Moar said, adding after participants make their lunch, they take it outside, picnic-style and play some games.
