New app takes the guesswork out of garbage, recycling

A new app from the City of Dauphin means residents no longer have to look to their neighbours curb to figure out when to put out the recycling bin.
Bill Brenner, director of Public Works explained Recycle Coach is an app for smart devices and the city website that assists in alerting residents when recycling, waste and yard waste pick ups occur.
“We have household hazardous waste day on there, so anything that we’re doing relating to recycling and waste collection will show up on the calendar,” he said.
On a smart device, residents will have a personalized garbage and recycling calendar and be sent collection reminders the day before, to ensure pick day is not missed.
