City set for Travel Manitoba place branding process

Construction of the Best Western hotel currently taking place on South Main Street has helped the City of Dauphin meet the criteria to participate in Travel Manitoba’s place branding program.
“It’s not available to every municipality. There are certain criteria that a municipality must meet in terms of attractions and size of the community and hotel availability or accommodations. And I believe that with the new hotel that’s coming up at the south end of Dauphin, that secures our viability for this programming,” city manager Sharla Griffiths said.
Running since 2017, the program sees Travel Manitoba and partner firms work with local government and stakeholders to develop a brand and a marketing plan for the community.
“To determine what we’ve got, what we want to promote and what’s the best way to promote it,” Griffiths said.
