Local museums ready to welcome back patrons

With Manitoba easing restrictions on out-of-province visitors from western and northern Canada and northwestern Ontario, Dauphin museums are making themselves available as a tourism option.
Fort Dauphin Museum, Dauphin Rail Museum and Trembowla Cross of Freedom are all preparing to welcome visitors beginning next month, while Selo Ukraina Folk Art Centre and Museum has made the decision to close for the summer.
Fort Dauphin Museum will open, July 2, for the first time since being closed, Mar. 18, and will offer guided tours by appointment only until Aug. 21. The museum will open Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“People can call our office to reserve their date and time,” said executive director Theresa Marie Deyholos.
