Dauphin man among those killed in collision

A 19-year-old Dauphin man was one of three people killed in a collision with a train last week.
Also killed in the incident were a 45-year-old man from the Sandy Bay First Nation and a 25-year-old man from the Waywayseecappo First Nation.
On Sept. 8, 2020, at 11:30 a.m., officers from the Yellowhead RCMP detachment, along with CP Police, responded to a report of a collision between a vehicle and train on Road 126 West, one kilometre east of Strathclair.
Investigation revealed that a van, with four occupants, being driven by a 27-year-old man from Dauphin, was travelling northbound when it was struck by a westbound CP train.
The driver was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the three occupants of the van were pronounced deceased on scene.
Officers from the Yellowhead Detachment along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist continue to assist CP Police in this investigation.
