Murder charges levelled

The police investigation into a Sept. 24 all-terrain vehicle collision has resulted in charges against an Ebb and Flow First Nation man.
Francis Mousseau, 51, from Ebb and Flow First Nation is facing charges of second degree for his role in the incident.
On that day, at 2:35 p.m., Dauphin RCMP received a report of an ATV collision that occurred on Provincial Road 489, near Provincial Road 271 in the RM of Mountain, where a 35-year-old man from Pine Creek First Nation, was found dead on scene.
A 39-year-old woman was also located at the scene with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. She was transported to hospital.
Investigation determined the collision had not occurred that location. Police concluded the death was a result of foul play, and the suspect was Mousseau.
Mousseau was in the custody of Manitoba First Nations Police Service for outstanding warrants for flight from a police officer and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
RCMP Major Crime Services attended Sandy Bay, Sept. 27, where Mousseau was arrested and charged for second degree murder in the death of the man.
