Peer 2 Peer Connections welcomes Snitka to new in-hospital role

After 20 years with the Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba (MDAM), Eleanor Snitka has moved on. Sort of.
Snitka is now a peer support worker for Peer 2 Peer Connections, a program under the umbrella of the Manitoba Schizophrenia Society (MSS).
About four years ago, she explained, Snitka was part of a committee that was looking to talk to the government about bringing in some peer support into hospital emergency rooms.
“It took a long time, but this past winter, the provincial government decided to put some money into Dauphin hospital emergency room and into a Winnipeg crisis response centre,” she said.
After being with MDAM for 20 years, she felt it was probably time for her to retire.
