Information needed on armed robbery attempt


Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP are looking for anyone who may have witnessed an attempted armed robbery, last week.
On Mar. 18, at approximately 11:55 a.m., a man came to the RCMP detachment in Ste. Rose to report an attempted armed robbery that had just occurred.
Ten minutes earlier, the 71-year-old victim was shopping at a business on Central Avenue, and returned to his vehicle which was parked in the parking lot.
He was sitting in the front seat when an unknown man opened his door. The man was holding a firearm, threatened the victim and told him to get out of the vehicle.
The victim managed to push the suspect away, and the suspect then fled on foot.
The victim was not injured.
The suspect is described as Indigenous, 22 to 25 years of age, approximately five feet four inches in height and weighing 150 pounds. He had brown eyes and short dark hair.
He was wearing a black sweater, black pants and a black face mask.
