Province Hits Next Vaccine Milestone

Almost a month ahead of schedule Manitoba has hit its second vaccine milestone when it comes to reopening the province after the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Tuesday the Manitoba Government announced that 75.1% of people aged 12 & up in the province have their first dose and 51.5% have their second dose. 

Holiday Milestones:

  • Canada Day - 70/25 70%+ of all Manitobans age 12 and above have received their 1st vaccination dose; and 25%+ have received their 2nd vaccination dose.

  • August Long - 75/50 75%+ of all Manitobans age 12 and above have received their 1st vaccination dose; and 50%+ have received their 2nd vaccination dose.

  • Labour Day - 80/75 80%+ of all Manitobans age 12 and above have received their 1st vaccination dose; and 75%+ have received their 2nd vaccination dose.

Government officials have stated in the past that if the milestones are met early the province will ease restrictions earlier as well, however Manitoba still needs to go through an incubation period (14 days) for each milestone. That means that the earliest the province will move to the next stage of reopening won't be until next week (July 11-17).
