Juniors Shine In DLGC’s First Tournament


Twenty-five teams hit the links at the Dauphin Lake Golf Club to take part in the Stan Homeniuk Adult-Junior Golf Tournament, Saturday.

Landon Pernarowski teamed up with Mike Pernarowski to win the boys five-to-nine age group, shooting a 47 in the alternate shot format.

Talon and Chris Porter finished second with a 52 and Frasier and James Stoesz were awarded third on a countback over Felix and Brad Carefoot. They both finished with a 54.

Mason and Mike Sparrow were fifth with a 57 and Cassius and Tyler Geisler finished sixth after shooting a 61.

Brooklyn and Jordan Pernarowski shot a 62 to win the girls five-to-nine age group, finishing two shots ahead of Lucy and Mike Lee.

In the girls 10-to-12 age group, Olivia Knutson and Lane Prokopowich took top honours with a 56. Runners-up were Cameron and Chris Carefoot with a 60 and in third place was Charlie and Clayton Carefoot with a 62.

Devin and Kellen Shtykalo won the boys 10-to-12 category, finishing with a 46. Forrest Karlson and Dean Murray were second, shooting a 49, while Cody and Sheldon Love were third, one shot back.

A countback gave fourth place to Parks and Ryan Gardner over Ryder and Bob Gardner after they both finished with a 51.

Brody and Craig Kaminski finished sixth with a 54 and Connor Brown and Eleanor Snitka were seventh with a 62.

Boston Karlson and Tyler Carefoot needed an extra hole to win the 13-to-17 age group, beating Jackson Delaurier and Stan Homeniuk. The two teams tied with an 80 after 18 holes.

Owen Sigvaldason and Al Porter finished third after shooting an 85, while Ethan and Brian Kuzyk shot a 109 to finish fourth.

Hayden Lacquette and David Comtois started late.

Mia and Al Jensen won the girls 13-to-17 age group, carding a 110. Ava and Jennifer Knutson were second with a 117.
